Two Sides of a River
The 250 meters that the river Merwede in the Netherlands measures near Sliedrecht, separates two banks that could not be more different. On the one hand with ship workshops, cranes and other heavy equipment, concrete, steel, rust, noise and oil. And after the crossing over swirling water between immense, humming cargo ships, on the other side there’s the Biesbosch. A green oasis of peace. With calm water in quiet creeks, where nature can come to itself and people can too.
Bustle and noise versus peace and quiet
